PATH TO FUSION LABS
Prior to FUSION LABS, the founding executives were members of another executive team that founded and built BRBA. BRBA was a highly profitable Dallas-based consulting and software firm with annual revenues exceeding $30 million. BRBA became the accounting acquirer of six corporations to launch a successful NASDAQ IPO for the public company Brightstar (BTSR). Brightstar Corporation grew, primarily through acquisition, to include more than 1500 employees operating on three continents with annual revenues more than $200 million. The executive team left Brightstar to found Fusion Labs in 2001, and several former BRBA executives joined the new organization to provide the collective management base for continued growth.
FUSION LABS’ initial success was paved by the explosive growth of an integrated software grants program created for the University of Texas. From these early days, the company was poised for growth. After the first year, FUSION LABS achieved its original five-year strategic plan, and soon after that, shifted its focus to working directly for national companies and foundations.
After its initial success, FUSION LABS executed several small to moderate technical company acquisitions and proceeded with the development of a set of proprietary software products focused on the underserved nonprofit sector. GrantedGE continued to be technically upgraded and expanded to address specialized areas such as scholarships, and it has since become the dominant U.S. large-scale foundation support grant system.
FUSION LABS introduced the Spectrum product in 2012, bringing a high level of grant management sophistication with full portal capabilities to foundations and other grant-making markets.
